Trois ans d’audace, de passion et d’excellence – Le Dry Gin Gëlle Fra souffle sa troisième bougie!

Juillet 2022 marquait le début d’une aventure ambitieuse et authentique : celle de la création de notre Dry Gin Gëlle Fra®, fruit d’une étroite collaboration avec Mariette et Camille Duhr, maître distillateur de sixième génération à la Distillerie Diedenacker, à Niederdonven. Ce premier spiritueux, imaginé avec passion et exigence, posait les fondations d’une gamme qui, aujourd’hui, incarne l’excellence et le savoir-faire luxembourgeois.

Depuis ce lancement fondateur, la famille Gëlle Fra® s’est enrichie :

– Donven’s Gëlle Fra® Single Malt Whisky, patiemment vieilli pendant six ans en fûts de chêne, a vu le jour peu après le gin, offrant une expression noble et complexe.

– En 2023, notre Marc de Grappes, fidèle aux traditions, est venu compléter l’univers.

– Et en 2024, nous avons revisité deux grandes eaux-de-vie classiques à travers nos "Extraordinaires", L'extraordinaire Quetsch et l'Extraordinaire Mirabelle, véritables hommages à l'art de la distillation.

Notre Dry Gin Gëlle Fra® connaît depuis une belle ascension, devenant une référence parmi les amateurs de gin au Luxembourg et bien au-delà, malgré un marché de plus en plus saturé. Cette réussite, nous la devons à la rigueur et à l’expertise de Camille Duhr, sans qui rien de cela n’aurait été possible. Ensemble, sans jamais forcer notre présence, nous avons su positionner Gëlle Fra® comme une signature incontournable, en trois ans seulement.

La marque a su grandir avec conviction et humilité, portée par un choix assumé de partenaires locaux, sélectionnés pour leur renommée, leur engagement qualité, et leur attachement à une production artisanale et soignée.

Si la collaboration avec un vigneron mosellan pour deux Crémants – un Brut de 7 ans et un Rosé de 5 ans de fermentation en bouteille – n’a malheureusement pas pu se concrétiser comme espéré, ce fut une exception dans un parcours jalonné de partenariats solides, de confiance et de belles réussites viticoles au cours de ces douze années d’existence de Gëlle Fra®.

Aujourd’hui, une nouvelle page s’écrit avec Sarah Marinkovic et Patrick Fantini de la Distillerie Difrulux à Breidweiler. Ensemble, nous avons développé une gamme de six liqueurs en co-branding avec Lux’us®, mêlant tradition italienne et audace luxembourgeoise :

Orancello, Limoncello, Maracuja, chacun décliné également en version Crema.

Une collection déjà prête à séduire un public d’amateurs à la recherche de produits authentiques et raffinés.

Trois ans, et déjà tant d’histoires, de défis relevés, et de promesses tenues.

Mais ce n’est qu’un début. La saga Gëlle Fra® continue, fidèle à ses valeurs d’excellence, de proximité et de passion.

Three Years of Boldness, Passion, and Excellence – Dry Gin Gëlle Fra® Turns Three!

July 2022 marked the beginning of an ambitious and authentic journey: the creation of our Dry Gin Gëlle Fra®, the result of a close collaboration with Mariette and Camille Duhr, sixth-generation master distiller at the Distillerie Diedenacker in Niederdonven.

This first spirit, crafted with both passion and precision, laid the foundation for a product line that today embodies Luxembourgish excellence and artisanal know-how.

Since that milestone launch, the Gëlle Fra® family has grown:– Donven’s Gëlle Fra® Single Malt Whisky, patiently aged for six years in oak barrels, followed soon after, offering a noble and complex expression.– In 2023, our Marc de Grappes, rooted in tradition, was introduced to enrich the collection.– And in 2024, we reimagined two classic fruit brandies with L’Extraordinaire Quetsch and L’Extraordinaire Mirabelle, true tributes to the art of distillation.

Since its inception, our Dry Gin Gëlle Fra® has continued to gain recognition, becoming a benchmark among gin lovers in Luxembourg and far beyond—despite an increasingly crowded market. This success is due in large part to the expertise and dedication of Camille Duhr, without whom none of this would have been possible. Together, and without forcing the spotlight, we have succeeded in positioning Gëlle Fra® as a trusted and respected name—within just three years.

The brand has grown with both conviction and humility, thanks to a deliberate choice of local partners known for their quality, reputation, and deep respect for artisanal production.

Although a collaboration with a Moselle winemaker for two Crémants—one a 7-year Brut and the other a 5-year bottle-fermented Rosé—could not be fulfilled due to unkept commitments, this remains an exception in a twelve-year journey built on strong partnerships, mutual trust, and acclaimed wine creations under the Gëlle Fra® label.

Today, a new chapter is being written with Sarah Marinkovic and Patrick Fantini from the Distillerie Difrulux in Breidweiler. Together, we have developed a range of six liqueurs in co-branding with Lux’us®, blending Italian tradition with Luxembourgish creativity: Orancello, Limoncello, and Maracuja, each also available in a Crema version. A collection now ready to delight enthusiasts in search of authentic and refined spirits.

Three years—filled with stories, challenges, and commitments kept. But this is only the beginning. The Gëlle Fra® saga continues, true to its values of excellence, closeness, and passion.
